May 28, 2025

[Dubai, May 28, 2025] The FutureNet MENA conference, a globally influential event in network automation, was recently held in Dubai. MTN, in collaboration with Huawei, received the "Automation Solution Award" for its innovative advancements in All-Optical autonomous driving network technology.

As a leading telecom operator, MTN has consistently pursued innovation in network intelligence and automation, aiming to build a highly autonomous communication network. In partnership with Huawei, the operator has developed an all-optical autonomous driving network solution that utilizes a three-layer intelligence framework encompassing NEs, network management system (NMS), and services. This solution enhances automation and intelligence in optical network O&M, ensuring proactive protection against network risks.

This E2E solution incorporates several technological breakthroughs:

1. Digital and intelligent all-optical network: This solution is equipped with built-in optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs) and BianQue AI optical modules, enabling it to light up dumb resources while accurately monitoring network resource availability and changes. Additionally, it leverages advanced intelligent algorithms such as multi-pulse fusion analysis and BC tree for automated risk prediction and root cause identification.

2. Coordination between intelligent NEs and Huawei's iMaster NCE-T: This solution leverages automated risk analysis, holistic perception, and multimodal deep learning algorithms for intelligent optical network management, control, and analysis. It proactively detects network risks and optimizes network configurations before user complaints arise, improving network reliability.

3. StellarGo route calculation algorithm: This solution supports route calculation based on multiple factors, such as bandwidth, latency, and availability, enabling E2E automation across multiple service layers. It significantly shortens the time-to-market (TTM), better adapts to diverse user demands, and enhances product competitiveness.

This award is a strong industry endorsement of MTN and Huawei's innovative practices, providing valuable insights for developing E2E intelligent network O&M capabilities within the sector.

Wang Shaosen, General Manager of Huawei ADN Solution, stated: "Looking ahead, Huawei will continue to focus on high-value scenarios, enhance the intrinsic capabilities of network devices, and develop a leading ADN L4 solution. This will support global operators in advancing autonomous network capabilities and enable high-quality network development."
