Telekom Malaysia (TM), a Vodafone subsidiary in Malaysia, is the leading integrated communications provider. TM is a leader in transforming the way Malaysians connect, communicate and collaborate, with strong emphasis on innovation and digital service. It currently offers a comprehensive range of services in voice, IP services (broadband Internet, data services) and fixed-connections. TM strategy for communication services is based on keeping focus on unifying communications services as a key area to rapidly evolve by leading the market in next generation digital services.
In 2010 TM launched a project to bring High Speed Broadband service (HSSB) to the market. The project was to offer triple-play services and packages to consumers. This triple play was to include Video, Internet and Phone (a.k.a VIP service). The project required TM to invest in IPTV solutions that tightly integrated into the existing network and IT infrastructure for unified experience of consumers. This turnkey innovation brings improved brand attraction and rich portfolio of video services through joint partnership with Huawei. Through EOT, TM gained from Huawei’s MS partnership to rapidly grow its IPTV offerings to over 47 live channel services, 23+ TSTV channels, 21+ TVOD channels and more than 2,500 hours of VOD streams.
By engaging Huawei through an Establish-Operate-Transfer model, TM achieved a major win with providing an integrated IPTV operations and management environment, including integration with existing business and network, as well as leveraging Huawei to offer the support needed to speed up launch readiness and go-to-market for IPTV services. Since the service went live in early 2010, Huawei’s managed services has supported TM in delivering quality VIP services, responsive O&M, proactive service management and supporting marketing programs with planning and innovation. Our partnership helped TM quickly grow V-I-P services with through quality assurance, and fast fulfillment to keep TM’s brand ahead of the digital communications competition in Malaysia.
